Buzz Lightyear

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, lone space ranger and all over action adventure hero lands his spaceship slap bang in the middle of Andy’s bedroom, after Andy is given him a birthday gift. Complete with laser beam, karate-chop action and pop-out wings, Woody, previously Andy’s favourite toy, fears he will be put aside. Buzz is a boy’s dream toy who becomes a quick favourite of young Andy, and after some initial bumps along the road, like being pushed out of Andy’s window and battling Sid, the toy torturer next door neighbour, Buzz Lightyear becomes the closest of buddies with Woody.

In Toy Story 2 Buzz Lightyear lead the toys on a rescue mission. Woody has been stolen by the obsessive toy collector Al McWhiggin and it is up to the toys of Andy’s room to help woody break out! On the way back to Andy’s house Buzz is overpowered by a newer more advanced Buzz Lightyear and is imprisoned in Buzz Lightyear packaging amongst hundreds of other Buzz’s, will the toys be able to recognise their friend in time?

Buzz Lightyear takes some unexpected turns in Toy Story 3 where his sole mission to keep his toy family together. Buzz’s new mission is sidetracked along the way when he falls and hits his head during a rescue attempt, Buzz has to be reset. The space ranger Buzz Lightyear reappears, much to the annoyance of the other toys, as well as some other surprising aspects of his personality even he didn’t know existed!
