Toy Story - What happens to toys when no-one is around, have you ever wondered? In this fun filled, explosive story about the secret life of toys, the toys of Andy’s bedroom are disturbed by a new member of the group, Buzz Lightyear. Buzz takes the place of Andy’s favourite toy Woody who has a bout of jealousy and throws Buzz out of the window! Woody then goes on a mission to save Buzz to prove to the other toys that he had not pushed him deliberately (even though he did! Ssshh!)

Toy Story characters are voiced by a series of different stars, with Tom Hanks voicing Woody and Tim Allen voicing Buzz Lightyear. The film was also directed by Disney Pixar legend John Lasseter who won a Special Achievement Award for his work on Toy Story

Toy Story is one of the most loved Disney Pixar movies, and was the first be created completely using computer generated imagery. Toy Story earned almost $70 million in the first week of release in the US placing it third as the highest grossing animated film to The Lion King and Aladdin.

This much loved film which went on to wow the world, Toy Story was made for only $30 million by a team of 110 people. Lasseter wanted the Toy Story world to look real, unlike the Disney Classic films. If you look closely at Andy’s house you will see broken door frames and scuffed floor boards. Toy Story went on to define a style of animation which was used through all the Pixar films.

In October 2009, Toy Story was re-release in Disney 3D, alongside with its sequel Toy Story 2. The films had to be adapted with a new camera angle to develop the 3D effect. Toy Story 3D grossed $12.5 in its first weekend in the UK alone.
