Graduate Environment Artist
Black Rock Studiois currently looking for a Graduate Environment Artist to join the team at the Brighton-based studio.
Key activities:
— Able to consistently produce art of exceptional quality, in a timely manner displaying an attention to detail that illustrates the potential for excellence.
— Demonstrate a good coherent ability in gaining a working knowledge of the current platforms, technical art restrictions and limitations to which you will be developing on.
— Able to give and receive constructive feedback on your own and peers work.
— Consistently strive to maintain or exceed the highest quality standards of the Art Department.
— Make a significant direct contribution to the creation of in-game environment art as it applies to technology for an original racing game.
— Develop, maintain and communicate a strong knowledge of innovative game production technologies, techniques and the capabilities / limitations of these technologies as they relate to the project goals.
Skills / requirements:
— A passion for creating and playing videogames.
— Proven ability and portfolio of traditional artwork. Traditional drawing skills are a must.
— Ability to work in a creative and collaborative environment.
— Commitment to personal development.
— Understanding off 2D/3D packages and their application within games.
— Ideally, we’d like to see some level of experience in organizational skills as they apply to your degree.
— Practical work experience in a related field [e.g. vacation work, demonstrating an eagerness to work in this type of role].
— Able to work independently and learn quickly.
— Must possess and be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and effectively communicate technical concepts.
— Can adapt well to a new and fast-paced environment.
— Excellent and proven computer skills.
— Able to manage multiple projects / tasks at once, and prioritize effectively.
— Good interpersonal skills; able to work with a broad mix of people and act in a professional and yet, personable manner.
— Display a strong knowledge in all aspects of the Entertainment Software Industry, especially as it relates to current and up-coming software innovations, hardware trends and emerging technologies.
— Able to consistently produce and critique work to a high standard.
— Must have an aptitude to learn new and complex packages to aid in the production of computer game environments and other areas of game asset creation.
