Game Director
Job Overview
The Game Director works alongside the game development team to direct development of the game. The game is created with Unity and the role requires an in-depth understanding of free-to-play gaming and gaming in general.
Responsibilities
• Oversee all aspects of game development including gameplay, design, art, audio, UI and work closely with the Creative Director to ensure all elements are in harmony with story, universe, setting and characters.
• Works closely with the Art Director to enable art direction to be closely aligned with both the Game Directors game vision and the Creative Directors story/universe.
• Closely supervise game design/mechanics, community, player metrics and monetization and optimizes all of these areas to generate high revenue and deliver maximal profitability.
• Design, test, revise, document, analyze and maintain key player metric gathering tools and features working in partnership with Senior Designer and Gameplay Programmers.
• Oversee all community efforts for the product and work closely with Community Manager.
• Participate actively in team brainstorm sessions, provide constructive feedback, research new features and identify improvements to current approaches.
• Provide creative and technical support and supervision to other team members.
Experience
• Must possess outstanding design skills and come from a strong background in leadership skills.
• Must have a deep understanding of the requirements of game production and design process.
• An active interest in the latest developments, future trends, competitive landscape and state of the art within interactive games and related industries.
• Experience of managing a dynamic team and prioritizing multiple tasks under deadline pressure and delivering AAA titles.
• Passionate about player metrics.
