RICHARD SHARRATT
(UK Sound Design)

Richard worked for several years in English regional theatres before coming to London's West End with Willy Russell's Blood Brothers in 1983. Subsequently he has mixed many shows including Song and Dance, Guys and Dolls, Metropolis and Mutiny.

After mixing the original production of The Phantom of the Opera in 1986, he became Associate Sound Designer for the show in Vienna, and has been responsible for the sound on subsequent productions in Stockholm, Melbourne, Manchester, Sydney, Edinburgh, Brisbane and Basel. He has also been Associate Sound Designer for many other shows, including Starlight Express in Japan and Australia and the European tour of Five Guys Named Moe.

Richard still enjoys mixing concerts and special events such as the VE Day celebrations and the BBC's "Last Night of the Proms", both in Hyde Park, and other major classical events, recently including the acclaimed international production of Mozart's The Magic Flute in Vienna and Munich, and concerts for Placido Domingo, Diana Ross, José Carreras and Montserrat Caballe.

His work outside the world of theatre and classical music also includes sound design for commercial presentations and conferences. Now based in leafy Warwickshire, he lives in rural bliss with his costume maker wife and enjoys tending his allotment when time allows.
