ROBERT JON
(Swing/u/s Monsieur D'Arque)

Robert Jon was born in Cornwall, but came to London in 1978 to study singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, first with Walter Gruner and later with Bernard Dickerson.

Robert joined the Glyndebourne Festival and Touring Opera in 1983 and stayed for six years. He appeared in Ian Judge's production of Bitter Sweet for New Sadler's Wells Opera, and travelled to New York with them to perform in HMS Pinafore at the City Centre Theatre. Robert took part in the national tour of the Broadway Pirates of Penzance, and sang King Neptune in Robinson Crusoe at the New Theatre Cardiff, a role he repeated at the Grand Opera House, Belfast.

Repertory work includes Sweeney Todd at the Salisbury Playhouse, where he played the Beadle, and My Fair Lady at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth.

This is Robert's second West End show, having completed six years in The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's.
