BILLY BOYLE
(Maurice)

Billy Boyle was born in Dublin, and appeared at all the leading Irish theatres before coming to London at the age of seventeen to star in The Scatterin at Joan Littlewood's Stratford East.

He then went on to play leading roles in many West End stage productions including Maggie May at the Adelphi, Hello Dolly at the Drury Lane Theatre, Canterbury Tales at the Phoenix, Treasure Island at the Mermaid, What's a Nice Country at the Mayfair, No Sex Please We're British at the Strand Theatre, Love, Lust and Marriage at the Arts Theatre and he took over from Michael Crawford in Billy at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. He appeared in the UK tour of Tutti Frutti and won great acclaim in the Jack Lemmon role of Jerry in Some Like it Hot, on tour and at the Prince Edward Theatre.

He appeared in The Marriage of Figaro as Bartolo and Antonio, Mahon in The Playboy of the Western World at the Birmingham Repertory and with Patricia Routledge at The Albery Theatre, London as Sir Lucius O'Trigger in The Rivals.

He was recently seen in the highly acclaimed "Grass Arena" on BBC television. His many other TV appearances include Danny Taurus in the successful series "Eastenders", "Life at Stake", "Rebellion at Easter", "The Bretts" and his own very successful series on Irish Television.

His film credits include "The Hunted", Stanley Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon", "Side By Side", "The Scarlett and Black" with Gregory Peck, "Wild Geese II" and "Sean".

Billy has recently filmed "Trail of Guilt" for the BBC and when not committed to any filming he travels the world in his own one man show.
