BOURNE
(Gaston)
Alex joins the cast of Disney's Beauty and the Beast
direct from the Cambridge Theatre London, where he had been playing Danny Zuko in the hit
musical Grease. Alex also originated the role of Kenickie on the first
national tour of Grease at the Opera House, Manchester. He starred as
Buddy Holly in Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story on the American Tour, the
U.K. tour and 2 years at the Victoria Palace Theatre, London, wearing the specs in over
1000 performances.
Whilst in America, he had the honour of performing for the President and Mrs. Bush at the
White House. At nineteen, Alex began his singing career on the island of Jersey,
performing in Cabaret for Paul Wagner which led to a season at Caesar's Palace. He then
cruised around the world with P&O's Stadium Theatre Co. playing Benny in Guys
and Dolls, Billy in No No Nanette, Clifford in Deathtrap
and Jack in Charley's Aunt, aboard M.V. Victoria and S.S. Canberra, where
he met his wife, Julie. In 1995 Alex was invited to perform on the maiden voyage of the
M.V. Oriana. Other theatre work includes RSC/Opera North production of Showboat,
both on tour and at the London Palladium and playing Bobby Vee, John Lennon and Bruce
Springsteen in Only the Lonely at The Whitehall Theatre, London and 4
Steps To Heaven, Theatre Royal, Windsor.
