Madame de la Grande Bouche, once 'the toast of Europe' the brightest star ever to grace the stage, has been transformed from a grand, larger-than-life opera diva  into a wardrobe. Her drawers are full of clothes: in one, a pair of bloomers; in another, a gown she wore the night she performed at the Royal Opera. It no longer fits her now, though, so she offers it to Belle to wear to dinner.
