How to Book
Disabled and Deaf Concessions can be booked by calling The Lyceum Theatre Box Office only on 020 7420 8113. Alternatively tickets can be booked in person at the theatre Box Office, located to the right when facing the theatre. Outside the entrance to the Box Office is a low-level disability assistance button which when pressed, will notify Box Office staff of a customers need for assistance. Wheelchair Spaces / Concession
- The Lyceum Theatre has 8 wheelchair spaces available in the Stalls seating area. To reserve a wheelchair space call The Lyceum Theatre Box Office on 020 7420 8113. Box Office opening hours for advance bookings are 10am - 6pm Monday - Saturday and 12pm - 3pm Sunday. We would recommend you book wheelchair spaces well in advance of your chosen performance as space and safety constraints restrict us to 8 per performance. Any seat in the Stalls is available for people who would like to transfer from a wheelchair into a seat. It is also possible to transfer into seats in both the Royal Circle and the Grand Circle as there are lifts to these levels, but please note that these seats are laid out over several steps.
- Wheelchair users staying in a wheelchair or transferring into an allocated seat qualify for a concessionary ticket. Current prices as follows –

Theatre Access
- The wheelchair accessible entrance is via a double EXIT door situated at the front of the theatre on Wellington Street, to the left of the five main doors. This is clearly marked and provides level access to the Accessible Toilets and the Stalls seating area. Upon arrival, please notify the Doorman who will open the doors for you. From the accessible entrance, a gentle slope leads past the Accessible Toilets to the Stalls seating area and the Stalls Bar, which is fully accessible.
- The theatre's main entrance is up three steps to the lower foyer. From here there are 7 steps down to the Stalls and 12 steps up to the Royal Circle landing. The Grand Circle is up 83 steps.
- There are lift facilities available to all levels of the Lyceum Theatre, located via the entrance on Exeter Street. All levels, apart from the Stalls, are laid out over a number of steps. The lift to the Royal Circle brings you out into the auditorium at Row H. From here there are a total of 14 steps down to Row A and 12 steps up to Row P. The lift to the Grand Circle brings you out into the auditorium near Row B. From here there are 3 steps up then 3 steps down to Row A and 33 steps up to Row M. Stalls | Royal Circle | Grand Circle
- Two Accessible Toilets are situated just inside the Level Access entrance on the way to the Stalls. These toilets may be locked so if necessary, please contact a member of staff for assistance. All other levels of the theatre have toilets, which are accessed via stairs.
- There are currently no low counters at the bars or confectionery kiosks, however, staff are available to take orders and will bring them to your seats if necessary. The Disney merchandise kiosks are all fully accessible.
Assisted Performances
- We regularly schedule Sign Interpreted, Audio Described and STAGETEXT captioned performances of 'The Lion King'. Further information on applicable dates and how to book is in the following sections for people with visual and hearing impairments. Please note that it is advisable to book for these performances well in advance as tickets are subject to availability.
Facilities for People with Visual Impairments
- We regularly schedule audio described performances of 'The Lion King' in association with VOCALEYES. The next audio described performance will take place on Saturday 21 July 2012 at 2.30pm, with a touch tour from 1pm in the Side Circle Bar.
- Audio description in theatre is a live verbal commentary on the visual elements of a production, delivered as a performance unfolds, through a discreet headset. One week before the performance, every visually impaired person who has pre-booked will receive a tape with detailed information on the production, such as sets and costumes. This tape also provides details on how to get to the theatre and orientation around it. For more information on audio description, click here to go to the Vocal Eyes website.
- Guide Dogs are welcome in the auditorium or can alternatively be left in the care of theatre staff. If you intend to bring a guide dog, please state so at the time of booking.
- The Lyceum Theatre currently has a limited number of large print and Braille programmes available. Both programmes can be provided if requested in advance by contacting the Front of House Manager on 020 7420 8100.
- A copy of 'The Lion King' script is available in Braille and an appointment can be made to read it in the theatre by prior arrangement. Please contact the theatre administration department on 020 7420 8100.
Assisted Hearing Facilities
- We regularly schedule sign-interpreted performances of 'The Lion King' in association with Theatre Sign. The next sign-interpreted performances of 'The Lion King' will take place on Sunday 11th March 2012 at 2.30pm and Saturday July 28th 2012 at 2.30pm.
- Throughout the performance, a qualified theatre sign interpreter stands on the left of the stage and uses sign language to relay music and words to deaf and hearing impaired patrons, all of whom are seated within easy viewing distance of both the stage and interpreter. - We regularly schedule captioned performances of 'The Lion King' in association with STAGETEXT. The next captioned performances of 'The Lion King' will take place on Sunday April 29th 2012 at 2.30pm and Friday September 7th 2012 at 7.30pm.
How to get to 'The Lion King' / Parking
The Lyceum Theatre is located in Wellington Street, situated at the corner of Aldwych in Covent Garden. For full details of travel by underground, train, bus, car and bicycle and to view a map click here.
The Lyceum Theatre has two spaces outside the front of the building available for orange badge holders. These cannot be booked in advance. There are also parking meters opposite the theatre's main entrance on Wellington Street. Orange badge holders are entitled to one hour's free parking after their paid time has expired. There are further parking spaces for disabled customers in selected car parks in the surrounding area (nearest Trafalgar or Leicester Square). These spaces can be booked in advance by calling MasterPark on 0800 243 348. There is no booking fee and there is a 50% discount on the parking fee when you present your theatre ticket stub and validated car park ticket at time of payment. (Please contact Front of House staff for further details of this discount scheme).
Theatreland Parking Scheme
If you’re driving into the West End to see the show, take advantage of Q-Park's Theatreland Parking Scheme saving 50% off off-street car parking charges for up to 24 hours. To qualify, simply present your Q-Park car park ticket for validation in the theatre foyer and the car park machine will automatically charge you half price. Our nearest Q-Park car park is Chinatown (Newport Place) and the next nearest is Trafalgar (Spring Gardens).
