Clement
Ishmael
Music Director
Clement is a conductor, composer and arranger. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto and Royal Conservatory of Music, where he specialised in composition and conducting as well as singing with Joyce Britten. Conducting credits include Abbey Players Opera Company, Ad Astra Chorus, Addison Jazz Ensembles, West London Gospel Choir and this year he will be conducting a new opera at Sadlers Wells. West End credits include: Five Guys Named Moe, Ain't Misbehavin', Smokey Joe's Café. He has also directed and arranged the music for the shows Sweet Lorraine, 3 Misbehavin', Up Against the Wall, Amen Corner, The Grapevine, Centralia and Soul Train. His classical compositions and arrangements have been performed world-wide as well as being broadcast by BBC Television and Radio. Most recently his Opera Grazyna was performed at the Royal Opera House's Linbury Studio and has been commissioned to write a new opera for W11 Opera Company, to be performed in September 2005.
