The Story - Act Two
Nala

Nala

"And where the journey may lead me
Let your prayers be my guide
I cannot stay here, my family
But I'll remember my pride."*

The remarkable thing about Nala is how tactfully and earnestly she encourages Simba to regain the throne that is rightly his. She acknowledges him as the true King from the moment they re-meet, without hesitation. This loyalty and sense of family progresses further as she returns to the Pridelands to de-throne Scar and take her place beside him as Queen of the Pridelands.

"She goes into exile, a departure that evokes great sadness, loneliness and permanence. Nala's tale is as compelling as Simba’s."
Julie Taymor
