The Story - Act Two
Mufasa

Mufasa

"A king's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun.
One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here
and will rise with you as the new king."

"Mufasa is powerful, terrifying, compassionate, all of which I had to build into his face. The essence of Mufasa is symmetry; he is an extremely balanced and straight forward personality. As part of the symmetrical image, I designed Mufasa's mane to form a circle around his head. He is like a Sun God, the center of the universe. He would have orbs around him, rings that represent his mane. There, in the father/hero, the mane symbolizes the Circle of Life that The Lion King celebrates."
